Lighting Design Assistant

SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen, within a collaborative, people-first culture.We are a small, collaborative lighting design and environmental assessment team within SLR, based in Bristol and working across a wide range of projects including commercial, residential, public realm, and infrastructure schemes.We now have an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate or junior professional to support our designers in delivering creative, compliant, and technically robust lighting solutions.The roleYou will receive full training to assist in the preparation of lighting designs, layouts, and calculations using industry software and to support the production of reports, drawings, and technical documentation for planning and design stages, as well as:Contribute to lighting impact assessments (e.g. external obtrusive light, ecology, dark skies)Conduct site visits, surveys, and data collectionHelp coordinate with architects, engineers, and planning teamsMaintain project records and assist with general project administrationWhat We OfferHands-on experience across a wide range of projectsMentoring from experienced lighting professionalsOpportunities for professional development and trainingSupport towards relevant professional membershipsFriendly, flexible, and supportive working environmentRewards & BenefitsSLR's ‘One Team’ culture is at the heart of our business, providing a collaborative and supportive environment where people can develop and grow.
