Our Mineral Estates management team brings together specialist chartered mineral surveyors and valuers, planners, geologists, and mining engineers to deliver property solutions for clients throughout the UK. The minerals estates team is renowned for the calibre of advice and support it provides to a wide range of clients, ranging from the largest landed estates and government bodies through to individual surface and mineral owners, and operators. SLR acts as mineral agent to the Crown Estate, the Crown Estate Scotland, Forestry England and the Isle of Man Government to name but a few. We are also the managing agent for Mines Royal throughout the UK.

The role(s) offer a challenging, interesting and varied workload with travel required throughout the UK. We are looking to make key appointments at all levels post professional qualification including a senior leadership role based in Newcastle upon Tyne to deliver high quality, expert advice to our existing clients and to continue the expansion of our successful mineral estates team. These positions can be full-time or part-time and based in any of our UK offices or remotely.

About you: A first degree in Mineral Surveying, Estates Management, Mineral Planning, Geology or similar. Professional membership of the RICS, or other relevant professional body or working towards this. An excellent working knowledge of mineral development and relevant property issues from a background either in industry or consultancy. Experience of producing heads of terms for leases, mineral planning and development work, management of mineral assets and ideally valuation work. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent reporting writing. Strong negotiating skills and effective communication both verbally and written. Good business and commercial awareness. Full UK driving license.
