We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join the leading Mineral Processing Testing Facility in Europe in a key support role within the laboratory operations team. We are seeking an organised, reliable and detail‑focused individual to take responsibility for the coordination, tracking and management of client samples throughout their lifecycle. Based in a laboratory and warehouse environment, this role plays a critical part in ensuring samples are imported, logged, stored, returned or disposed of in compliance with regulatory, environmental and client requirements.

The position involves regular liaison with internal technical teams, external clients, couriers, customs agents and waste contractors, and requires a strong focus on record‑keeping, compliance and communication. Please note that the laboratory location is not easily accessible by public transport and therefore the commute should be carefully considered when applying. This position is part time 20 hrs per week ideally over 5 days however specific timings/days are flexible and open for discussion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the importation of samples, including customs clearance where required.
  • Receiving, logging and tracking all samples on arrival, maintaining accurate records of sample status and storage location.
  • Managing the departmental sample database to ensure full traceability throughout the sample lifecycle.
  • Liaising with clients at project completion to arrange sample storage, return or disposal, and providing relevant billing information to the accounts team.
  • Submitting samples for waste disposal analysis and coordinating internal and third‑party disposal activities.
  • Preparing, filing and maintaining all disposal documentation and records to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements.
  • Obtaining quotations and coordinating sample returns with couriers and shipping agents.
  • Completing customs and shipping documentation and maintaining records of all outgoing shipments.
  • Packaging samples, or arranging appropriate packaging, to ensure safe handling and transport.
