As a Senior Engineer in the Mine Waste Team, you will support others on the delivery of mine waste projects and work with SLR’s other in-house technical disciplines. The position offers opportunities to:
- Work on projects from concept, through feasibility to final design and implementation and to provide direction and advice to Clients.
- Develop your project management skills.
- Develop your knowledge in all aspects of mine waste engineering, including numerical modelling, factual and interpretive reporting, detailed designs, specifications, tender documents and bills of quantities.
- Gain experience in the application of industry standard guidance.
- Demonstrate your potential for future leadership role within the mine waste team and wider business.
- Develop your skills in business to become proficient in client management, project execution and financial control.
- Work with highly experienced engineers who will mentor you to improve your technical skills, lateral thinking, judgement, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
About You
- Minimum of Honours degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering or MSc in a related subject.
- Working towards Chartered (or equivalent Professional Engineer) status.
- Strong demonstrable experience in mine waste consulting.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communications.
- Ability to plan and deliver geotechnical site investigations.
- Experience of working within multi-disciplinary projects.
- Working knowledge of mining industry standards such as GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA, etc.
- Experience of water management and water balance modelling.
- Experience in numerical modelling using geotechnical package GeoStudio or any other industry standard software.
- Good interpersonal, presentation and report writing skills.
- Knowledge of the commercial and business development skills required within a consultancy business.
