At SLR Consulting, we are looking for a Mining / Resource Geologist to join our rapidly expanding Mining Advisory team. Our team provides consulting services to the mining industry at every stage of project development, operation and closure, from initial exploration through to rehabilitation. This role is remote, with flexible working arrangements, and offers the opportunity to contribute to projects for clients across multiple regions and commodities.

As a Mining / Resource Geologist, you will contribute to a mix of due diligence, feasibility, and operational mining projects, combining technical delivery with project management and client-facing support. The role will suit someone who is comfortable working across multiple assignments, enjoys solving practical geological problems, and wants to develop further within a global consulting environment. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment, due diligence, and technical auditing of mines and mining projects.
  • Inputs into feasibility assessments, including scoping studies, PEA, PFS, and DFS level work.
  • Technical geological work related to exploration, geological interpretation, geomodelling, mineral resource estimation, and support to wider mining studies.
  • Design and supervision of drilling programmes, together with core logging, sampling, mapping, and associated site-based geological activities where required, depending on the seniority of the role.
  • Generation, management, review, and interpretation of geological databases and other supporting technical data sets.
  • Preparation of high-quality technical reports, presentations, and client-ready outputs.
  • Management of technical assignments, including coordination of deliverables, objectives, budgets, and cost control.
  • Support to proposals, bid coordination, and broader business development activities to help grow the team’s work pipeline.
  • Appreciation of local, regional, and/or national mining practices and legislation, depending on project location.
  • Participation in client meetings and multidisciplinary project teams; some travel will be required, including occasional short-notice travel and site visits.

You will be fully integrated into a collaborative one-team culture and will work closely with colleagues across mining disciplines and regions.

About You: You will have relevant experience in the mining sector, ideally gained through consulting, exploration, resource geology, technical services, or mine operations. You should be technically strong, commercially aware, and capable of communicating clearly with both colleagues and clients. Your qualifications and background should include:

  • University degree, or equivalent, in Geology or a closely related discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional organisation, and registration as, or progress towards becoming, a recognised professional or equivalent.
  • Operational and/or consulting experience in exploration, mine geology, resource geology, and mineral project evaluation.
  • Experience in geological interpretation, geomodelling, and resource estimation.
  • Familiarity with geological and spatial software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Micromine, or similar packages.
  • Familiarity with international and public disclosure/reporting codes such as NI 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, and Competent Persons Reports.
  • Exposure to project management, including successful delivery against objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to write concise reports and interact confidently with clients.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organised, and keen to excel in a role that combines technical quality, client service, and contribution to business growth.
