We’re looking for a talented mid‑level Graphic Designer to join us for a 12‑month maternity cover contract, starting mid‑June 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where your ideas truly shape the work we deliver.
The role involves taking the lead on a variety of design projects, from developing bold concepts to guiding complex, large‑scale pieces from initial briefing all the way through to final delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with our design team, share your expertise, and work directly with key stakeholders to bring high‑quality, visually striking solutions to life. Your creativity and communication will play a key part in ensuring every project achieves its strategic goals.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Project Management: Overseeing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, both large and small.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with key stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and communication is clear and effective.
- Effective Communication: Articulating design concepts clearly to clients and team members, incorporating feedback and providing project updates to ensure cohesive project outcomes.
- Troubleshooting and Conflict Resolution: Assisting with troubleshooting difficult project/client interactions and resolving communication barriers or conflicts to rebuild relationships, ensure smooth workflow, and maintain positive team dynamics.
- Presentation Skills: Confidently presenting design concepts and final deliverables to clients and internal teams, explaining the rationale behind design choices.
- Strategic Design: Creating high quality design work that aligns with the company's values, priorities, and strategic objectives.
Typical design projects include: Brochures and Reports, Advertising, Event Graphics, PPT Presentation design, Infographics.
SLR can offer flexible working arrangements, including home working, with the option to be based in our Birmingham, Bristol or London offices. A 4‑day week contract can also be considered.
