SLR has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to join its busy Civil & Structural Engineering team at Senior grade. The successful applicant will ideally be based in Stock on Trent and will support the civil & structural team as project manager and/or lead designer on projects across infrastructure, power, industry and the built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as project manager and lead designer on civil and structural projects.
  • Write proposals and manage client interfaces.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support sector and client leads across the business.
  • Collaborate closely with advisory, environmental management, land & water and specialist services groups.

Qualifications

  • Solid track record managing civil engineering projects in the UK.
  • Experience working independently with multidisciplinary teams in a consultancy or contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of proposal and tender writing (advantage).
  • Proficiency with drainage design software such as PD Causeway Flow.
  • Experience with Civils 3D, PDS or Site 3D (desirable).
  • Working knowledge of design codes and standards.
  • Experience producing infrastructure design packages and drawings, particularly highway and/or drainage.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound commercial decision‑making.
  • Valid UK driving licence (required for travel).
