Role Overview
Principal/Technical Director to join SLR's Acoustics and Vibration team with a lead role in the continued growth and development of this part of the business. Responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients and projects, overseeing the technical team and delivering projects across a range of sectors including renewable energy, built environment, education, mining, quarrying and waste.
Responsibilities
- Technical leadership and project delivery across on‐shore and off‐shore wind, solar farms, battery storage, highways, rail, residential, commercial and mixed‐use developments.
- Lead, prepare and review EIAs, ESs, Noise & Vibration chapters.
- Serve as technical author and reviewer for complex assessments.
- Oversee baseline survey design, modelling methodologies, impact assessment and development of mitigation strategies.
- Act as Noise and Vibration lead or technical authority on DCO and NSIP projects for applications, appeals, examinations and public representations.
- Provide expert witness and advocacy across appeals, enquiries and the preparation of expert reports.
Qualifications
- Experienced Noise & Vibration Consultant with a strong track record of delivering high‐quality technical advice across major infrastructure, development and environmental projects.
- Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA).
- Extensive experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams, setting technical direction and maintaining rigorous quality standards.
- Strong commercial awareness, work‐winning ability and demonstrated success in securing new and repeat business.
- Deep knowledge of UK noise and vibration standards, guidance and planning policy.
