Role Overview
The role represents a chance for an individual to further develop a professional career within surveying and consultancy. You will join a well-established team undertaking a variety of surveys across the UK, with full support and training to develop new skills while contributing positively to the group.
SLR has a busy, well-established Land Survey team that provides Geomatic surveying throughout the country, covering a wide range of industries for topographical surveying services. The team manages surveying contracts in detail for clients including minerals/waste operators, residential/commercial developers, civil/petrochemical/power engineering firms and more. The Land Survey team sits within a wider Geospatial and Data Solutions team comprising CAD specialists, GIS analysts, Data Scientists and Developers, offering opportunities to develop broader geospatial skills.
Responsibilities
- Work across a variety of fieldwork projects throughout the UK, including landfills, quarries, greenfield, urban & industrial environments, highways and rail facilities.
- Carry out project work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team from start to finish, showing initiative and responsibility to deliver surveys to a high standard.
- Process and produce survey plans in LSS and AutoCAD, perform volumetric calculations and prepare reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a degree in Surveying/Geomatics and work toward membership of either CICES or RICS.
- Must hold a clean, full UK driving licence (category B) and be comfortable driving for extended periods.
- Familiarity with Ordnance Survey and other online mapping sources is required.
Essential
- 2-5 years surveying experience using GNSS and Total Stations.
- Knowledge of using AutoCAD and LSS, and possibly n4ce.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and other Microsoft products.
- Hardworking and self-motivated, with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence covering Category B cars and vans and comfortable driving for extended periods.
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work, able to meet peak-time demands.
- Ability to work outdoors over difficult terrain across the UK.
- Positive, adaptable and challenge-ready personality.
Desirable
- Laser Scan processing with Register360.
- Drone piloting experience/qualifications (A2CofC or GVC).
- Drone data processing with DJI Terra or Pix4D.
- ArcPro or QGIS experience.
- Experience with RD8000 Radio Detection equipment.
