SLR Consulting is a leading global environmental and sustainability consultancy with over 100 offices worldwide. The Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant will work in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office and will be part of the growing Land Quality and Remediation team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver projects to a high standard, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team and its outputs.
- Design and manage ground investigation and monitoring activities.
- Prepare interpretative reports, including Preliminary Risk Assessments and Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical Assessments.
- Produce Remediation Strategies and supervise and validate remedial works.
- Collaborate closely with senior team members and technical specialists across disciplines.
Qualifications
- BSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- MSc is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience with Soil/Rock logging to BS5930.
- Knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation, planning guidance and relevant guidelines.
- Experience designing, supervising and managing Geo-Environmental site investigations.
- Experience in land contamination assessment (soil, water, ground gas, DQRA).
- Experience contributing to remedial options appraisals, remedial designs, specifications and validation reports.
- Experience preparing fee proposals for Geo-Environmental projects.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Chartered status or progress towards chartership through a professional institution.
- Full UK driving licence.
