We are seeking a talented and motivated FEA Specialist to join our innovative design team specialising in offshore substations and wind turbines. In this role, you will contribute to the structural design and analysis using industry leading software.
As an FEA Specialist, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, applying your technical expertise to support the successful delivery of projects within the offshore energy sector., * Conduct advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate the structural and performance of offshore substations and wind turbine support structures.

Develop detailed models to simulate static and dynamic loads on complex systems operating in offshore environments.

Perform modal, buckling and fatigue analyses to ensure compliance with industry standards such as DNV, and Eurocodes.

Collaborate with the wider engineering team to optimise structures and ensure they meet safety, performance, and manufacturability requirements.

Interpret FEA results and provide clear, actionable insights to support decision-making during the design and development phases.

Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports for internal teams and clients, including simulation setup, assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions.

Stay up to date with advancements in FEA tools, methodologies, and offshore renewable energy design standards. Identify opportunities for innovation and cost-effective design solutions to enhance project outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have gained chartership or close to attaining chartership. You will have experience of conducting advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate the structural performance of offshore substations and wind turbine support structures.
The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of structural mechanics, dynamics, fatigue, and fracture mechanics of metal structures. A general familiarity with offshore wind foundations design is beneficial, especially in relation to interfaces between substructures, wind turbines, topsides and the overall Transport and installation (T&I) cycle.
You will be able to develop relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and challenge the status quo whilst also being proactive in educating others on health and safety., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of relevant FEA engineering experience, ideally in offshore structures, wind turbines, or marine systems.

The ideal candidate will be a chartered engineer or close to attaining chartership.

Proven track record of contributing to complex design projects in the renewable energy sector desirable.

Proficiency in FEA software ( Ideally Ansys. Hyperworks, Abaqus or other high end commercial software are also relevant)

Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as DNV and Eurocode.

Familiarity with typical design criteria and analysis approaches for primary and secondary steel design, including ULS, FLS, SLS.

A strong understanding of structural detailing, such as design of welded and bolted connections

Knowledge of non-linear material modelling including metals, grouts and highly non-linear materials (ex. Rubber) would be great.

Experience with contact modelling.
