Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing practical, professional and customer-focused employee relations advice to managers and employees across the Council.
  • Helping managers deal confidently and fairly with a range of people matters, supporting good decision-making, positive working relationships and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary, probation and other people-related issues.
  • Providing clear advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, employment legislation, good practice and appropriate next steps.
  • Coaching managers to manage cases effectively, supporting them to prepare for meetings, apply procedures fairly and reach timely outcomes.
  • Working closely with HR Business Partners, legal colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure complex or higher-risk cases are managed appropriately.
  • Keeping accurate case records, monitoring progress against service standards and escalating risks or delays when needed.
