What you’ll be doing:
We are hiring an Emergency Planning Officer to help strengthen resilience in one of the most interesting places for civil protection in the UK. Slough is the UK’s smallest and highest density unitary authority: a compact, fast-moving borough on London’s doorstep, with a uniquely complex risk profile. You will help ensure the Council is prepared, confident and coordinated in its response. You will support the development, maintenance and exercising of emergency plans, strengthen responder arrangements, contribute to training and exercises, work closely with partners and communities to build resilience. This is an ideal developmental opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career resilience professional with a strong grounding in emergency planning theory and a willingness to learn. You will be part of the Council’s emergency response arrangements and help build capability that protects residents, businesses and services.
