Responsibilities
Slough Borough Council is seeking an experienced and ambitious Programme Manager to lead the transformation of its traditional face‑to‑face customer services. Key duties include:
- Design and deliver a new in‑person access model that replaces the transactional, counter‑based approach with a modern, needs‑led, community‑based service.
- Redefine how residents access support, focusing on understanding presenting needs at first contact.
- Provide holistic, face‑to‑face engagement and triage, and connect residents to the right support across council services and community partners.
- Enable earlier intervention and prevention, reducing repeat demand.
- Establish a network of community hubs that act as the primary face‑to‑face access points.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual increments payable (subject to satisfactory performance), usually on 1st April each year.
- 26 days annual leave (not including bank holidays), rising to 30 days after 2–5 years of service and 33 days after 5 years.
