About The Role

As Director of Operations, you will provide strategic leadership and effective management of our social care services. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children, promoting their welfare, and ensuring that our services are responsive, high‑quality, and aligned with both local and national priorities. This is a unique opportunity to join a wholly owned company commissioned by Slough Borough Council to deliver Children’s Social Care. While your primary focus will be on service delivery, you will also operate within a company framework, supported with any development you need in this area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage frontline social work services to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ensure efficient operation of services responding to concerns about vulnerable children.
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, reviews, and implementation of inspection recommendations.
  • Develop strong partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders, representing Slough Children First at strategic forums.
  • Oversee budgets, ensuring value for money and effective resource allocation.
  • Champion innovation and lead major change initiatives to improve outcomes for children.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding and social care matters.
