What you will be doing:

The Commissioning team in Slough is responsible for a wide range of services, and we are looking for 4 Strategic Commissioners to join our new team, which will be expanding further to include an all age approach. With clear vision and priorities to create a vibrant, good quality and sustainable care and support market to support people to reach their potential, in our supportive and inclusive team environment, we will give you the opportunity, skills, learning and development opportunities to equip you to excel in your role.

You will develop and implement strategies, systems and processes to improve the way in which services are commissioned, improving outcomes for individuals and their families, through key commissioning activity working with key partners including people with lived experience and our co-production network. You will have a varied range of change and transformation initiatives including service design, redesign, and decommissioning.

You will ensure that national and local priorities are reflected in commissioning decisions and lead on service developments that support the strategic intent of the Councils and its partners to develop lifelong approaches to prevention, tackling health inequalities and improving independence. Your in-depth knowledge and experience of specific portfolio areas along with a strong understanding of commissioning will help shape adult social care and the preventative offer in Slough.
