Are you passionate about championing the voice of residents? Do you want to be part of a major project enabling change in two areas of Slough?

The Pride in Place Programme is a £20m investment (over ten years) in Slough neighbourhoods Britwell and Langley Foxborough respectively, led by local residents and partners and overseen by Neighbourhood Boards.

As the accountable body for the funding programme, Slough Borough Council requires an experienced engagement officer to work with the Pride in Place Project Manager and Neighbourhood Boards to produce the Engagement Plan and support delivery, ensuring effective community engagement and best practice for consultation and engagement activity.

  • Produce the Engagement Plan in collaboration with the Pride in Place Project Manager and Neighbourhood Boards.
  • Support delivery of the Engagement Plan, ensuring effective community engagement and best practice for consultation and engagement activity.
  • Build relationships with residents, partners and key stakeholders, maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Make independent decisions and manage sensitive situations with reputational risk for the council.
  • Work with external partners to achieve results within tight deadlines, and provide consultation and engagement advice.

This is a vital role for the delivery of efficient and effective resident engagement and consultations connected to Pride in Place Britwell and Foxborough, to build capacity for residents to participate in the programme.

The officer works closely with the Pride in Place Programme Manager, the Strategic Partnerships Manager and the wider Resident Engagement and Communication team as well as colleagues across the council.
