What you’ll be doing:

Are you a payroll and pensions expert who is ready to combine technical excellence with real organisational impact?

As our Payroll and Pensions Technical Partner, you will help shape a resilient, accurate and forward-thinking service that supports colleagues across the Council. Working closely with the Payroll and Pensions Lead, you will provide trusted technical leadership, tackle complex payroll and pension matters, and step up as deputy when required.

This is an opportunity to do more than deliver an essential service. You will lead improvements to payroll systems and controls, strengthen compliance, support audits and reconciliations, and make processes easier for people to understand and use.

Through engaging training, practical guidance and strong partnerships across the Council, you will improve capability, data quality and the overall employee experience. If you enjoy solving complex problems, driving continuous improvement and turning specialist knowledge into better outcomes, we would love to hear from you.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1 April, subject to six months’ service and satisfactory performance, until the maximum spinal column point is reached.

Alongside a competitive salary, we provide:

  • 26 days’ annual leave, rising to 30 days after 2 years and 33 days after 5 years’ service.
  • The Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Wellbeing initiatives and employee networks that help us celebrate and promote equality.
