Responsibilities:
- This is a hands-on role combining site and office work to help keep the highway network safe, compliant, and well maintained.
- You’ll inspect roads, footways, and street furniture, identify and record defects, and decide on appropriate actions.
- You’ll order and supervise repair works, oversee contractors on site, and ensure work is completed safely, to standard, and with minimal disruption.
- The role involves responding to enquiries and complaints from residents, councillors, and utility companies, carrying out site meetings, and maintaining clear records.
- You’ll also inspect utility works, issue statutory notices where required, check invoices, carry out audits, and support legal matters, including preparing evidence and representing the Council.
- You’ll work closely with internal teams and contribute to applications, insurance reports, and public correspondence.
