Pay Level: 5 £30,160 fully inclusive of Local Weighting Allowance.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week.

Location: Observatory House / Slough Hybrid.

DBS requirement: Basic.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a hands-on role combining site and office work to help keep the highway network safe, compliant, and well maintained.
  • You’ll inspect roads, footways, and street furniture, identify and record defects, and decide on appropriate actions.
  • You’ll order and supervise repair works, oversee contractors on site, and ensure work is completed safely, to standard, and with minimal disruption.
  • The role involves responding to enquiries and complaints from residents, councillors, and utility companies, carrying out site meetings, and maintaining clear records.
  • You’ll also inspect utility works, issue statutory notices where required, check invoices, carry out audits, and support legal matters, including preparing evidence and representing the Council.
  • You’ll work closely with internal teams and contribute to applications, insurance reports, and public correspondence.
