What you’ll be doing:
As the primary driver of Employee Experience, Engagement and Wellbeing, you will be responsible for crafting innovative strategies and overseeing the execution of projects that enhance employee engagement, all while aligning with the broader goals of our People Workforce Strategy. Your leadership will be pivotal in creating an environment where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute to the success of Slough Borough Council.
The role holder will also be responsible for leading and managing the Council’s employee wellbeing strategy, ensuring that the health, resilience, and overall wellbeing of employees are prioritised and supported. You will develop and implement initiatives that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing across the workforce, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Collaborating with Public Health colleagues, you will design and deliver tailored programmes that address the diverse needs of the workforce, ultimately enhancing productivity, engagement, and retention. Your work will be central to creating a workplace where wellbeing is integrated into the fabric of the Council’s culture and operational practices.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your Director.
