The predicted salary is between 25000 - 35000 £ per year.

Directorate: Regeneration, Housing & Environment

Pay Level: 5 - £29,064 fully inclusive of Local Weighting Allowance

Contract Type: 12 months Fixed-term Contract

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

DBS requirement: Not Required

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Content & Communications Officer for Project Sponge, you will play a key role in promoting a pioneering environmental initiative aimed at reducing flood risk and building resilient communities in Slough and South Buckinghamshire. You will support the creation of engaging content, capture stories and visuals at local events, and help share the project’s activities through digital platforms, social media, and PR campaigns. Working closely with Slough Borough Council and external partners, you’ll have the opportunity to raise awareness of flood resilience, engage with local communities, and develop your skills in content creation and environmental communications. This role offers a pathway into a rewarding career in the environmental sector while contributing to a more sustainable and flood‑resilient future.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your Director.
