South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Fitness Assistant to join our team at Hamilton Water Palace. The successful applicant will support customers on their fitness journey, building rapport quickly to engage and educate them on the latest fitness trends and support them through their training as well as ensuring that the gym is kept clean and tidy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers in their fitness journey and provide personalised training guidance.
- Educate customers on the latest fitness trends and equipment usage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gym facilities.
- Assist with day‑to‑day gym operations and customer enquiries.
Requirements
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification and relevant HNC or equivalent.
- Excellent interaction and communication skills.
- Prior gym experience is an advantage but not essential – full training will be provided.
Interview Process
The interview will include a standard interview and a practical session.
Employment Details
- Hours: 25.125 per week – 2‑week shift pattern (Week 1: Mon 9am‑3pm, Wed & Thu 2pm‑9:15pm, Fri 10am‑3pm; Week 2: Mon 9am‑2pm, Thu 2:30pm‑9:15pm, Sat & Sun 8am‑4:30pm).
- Salary: £14.12‑£14.27 per hour.
- Duration: Fixed term until 31 March 2027.
- Location: South Lanarkshire Lifestyles Eastfield, Glenside Drive, Glasgow.
