At Slimstock work experts in end-to-end supply chain optimisation. We help organisations plan smarter and hold the right stock in the right place at the right time, combining our Slim4 platform with hands-on consultancy to deliver measurable supply chain improvements for customers around the world. Our UK team is growing, and we want to bring in people early in their careers who can grow with us. The theory you studied (forecasting, safety stock, service levels, replenishment) is what our customers use every day. Here you will see it working on real data, in real businesses, across many industries.
The role
This is a broad, hands-on first role for a graduate who wants to understand how supply chain software is designed, sold, implemented and supported. You will join the Delivery team as a Junior Consultant and work alongside experienced consultants on live customer projects.
In your first year you will not be confined to one job. You will spend time across consulting, customer training, sales and pre-sales, and our helpdesk. That breadth is deliberate: it gives you a complete picture of the customer journey, from first conversation to go-live and beyond, and helps you discover where your strengths lie. We are less interested in what you already know about Slim4 and more interested in how you think. If you enjoy asking why, digging into a customer's requirements until you really understand them, and working out a practical solution, you will thrive here.
Key responsibilities
- Get to know each customer's business, products and planning processes.
- Ask questions, gather requirements and document them clearly.
- Help translate business needs into Slim4 configuration and settings.
Working with data
- Prepare, validate and analyse customer data ahead of and during implementation.
- Spot patterns, gaps and issues, and explain what they mean for the customer.
- Build and maintain clear documentation of configuration and findings.
- Contribute to project tasks under the guidance of a Lead Consultant.
- Test configuration and help prepare customers for go-live.
- Keep your work organised, on time and visible to the wider team.
Sharing knowledge
- Deliver training sessions and create user guides for customers.
- Support colleagues in Sales, pre-sales and Helpdesk during rotations.
- Feed back what you learn from customers to improve our product and our methods.
What success looks like
By the end of your first year, success means:
- You understand Slim4's core functionality and can explain it confidently to customers.
- You have contributed to at least one implementation from requirements through to go-live.
- You can independently prepare and validate customer data and explain your findings.
- You have delivered customer training sessions and received positive feedback.
- You have a clear view of which direction you want to grow in next, whether consultancy, technical, training, sales or support.
What we are looking for
- A degree (2:1 or above, or equivalent) in supply chain, operations, logistics, business, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline.
- A genuine interest in supply chain and inventory management, and a desire to build a career in it.
- A curious, analytical mindset: you enjoy understanding how things work and why problems happen.
- Confidence with numbers and data, including strong Excel skills.
- Clear written and spoken communication, and the confidence to work directly with customers.
- A willingness to learn quickly, take on varied work and ask for help when you need it.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- A master's degree in supply chain management, or a master's with a significant supply chain component (for example business and supply chain, or engineering and supply chain).
- Study or project work covering forecasting, inventory policy, demand planning or operations research.
- Some exposure to SQL, Python or another data tool, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience from a placement, internship or part-time role in a supply chain, operations or customer-facing environment.
What we offer
- A structured first year through the Slimstock Academy, with training on Slim4 and supply chain best practice.
- Experience across five areas of the business, so you can shape your long-term path.
- Real customer exposure from early on, across a wide range of industries.
- Mentoring from experienced consultants and a clear route towards Consultant and Lead Consultant roles.
- Hybrid working and a supportive, growing team.
How you will work
We want people who represent Slimstock with clarity and professionalism, and who work with speed, openness and healthy collaboration. The behaviours that drive our success are:
- Building strong working relationships.
- Fast, transparent communication.
- Proactivity: communication before it is asked for.
- A team-first mindset: the whole is always greater than the sum of the parts.
- Curiosity: always asking why, and looking for a better solution.
