Overview
We are looking to add to our successful teams by recruiting a Senior Structural Technician to join our Bristol team.
We are looking for a candidate committed to the long-term development of their engineering skills and enthusiastic about career progression within our organisation.

Drawing upon a diverse skill set and a proven track record of delivery we are playing a leading role in some of the world's most challenging and exciting engineering projects.
Atkins Réalis is seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a high level of technical capability within the building structures sector and who can deliver CAD & REVIT support to our designers.
Your experience to date will have included involvement in a range of market sectors and detailing of key structural engineering materials, such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
Successful applicants will be able to fulfil many of the following requirements with additional training and development opportunities provided if required.
Your role
- Responsible for accurately and reliably producing 2D structural drawings and 3D models from engineering sketches.
- Responsible for delivering structural steelwork drawings, reinforced concrete drawings, RC detailing, and schedules.
- Working experience using packages such as CADS RC would be beneficial but not essential.
- Responsible for mentoring apprentice technicians.
- Responsible for working closely with our engineers to understand and foresee practical challenges within a design and to work with the team to resolve design and detailing challenges.
- Liaise with the BIM Coordinator or National BIM Lead to raise awareness of any identified issues with internal standards on projects.
- Ensure project standards are in accordance with the project BEP.
- Responsible for document control using Atkins Réalis and client CDE's.
About you
- In-depth experience of Autodesk products, specifically Revit, is essential.
- In-depth experience utilising common data environments to support project delivery.
- Good knowledge of digital tools within the building industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and industry-wide BIM requirements.
- Demonstrating a capability for problem-solving and understanding the wider engineering context of your drawings and models.
- Proven track record in BIM delivery from concept to construction.
- To work on own initiative and as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
- Good general knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage time during occasional peaks in workload.
- Experience in utilising automation processes to improve efficiency desirable (e. g. use of scripting platforms such as Dynamo).
