We are looking for several motivated and energetic Senior Civil Engineers to join our Land Development team within the Design & Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice of Atkins Réalis in the Manchester Office and other northern UK offices.
You'll be part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team delivering cutting edge, iconic projects to a wide variety of Land Development clients - projects like Sizewell C, Ministry of Defence Frameworks, Net Zero and Renewable Energy Projects, Homes England, Revantage UK & MADE Partnership among others.
This role would suit existing experienced Senior Civil Engineers through to Chartered / Incorporated Engineers looking to step into a Senior Civil Engineer position.
As a key member of our growing team, you'll play a vital role in delivering transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on landmark engineering projects both domestically and internationally.

We offer hybrid working which involves 3 days per week being office/site based. These positions are based in our Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, or Newcastle offices.
Your role

Ideally the successful candidate(s) would meet the responsibilities, skills and attributes identified below, however we will be pleased to consider candidate(s) that meet most of the criteria with demonstrable technical skills and capabilities.
- Technical Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage a team of civil engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following relevant national and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels in areas such as utilities, drainage, paved and unpaved surfaces, access and accessibility, earthworks and construction logistics.
- Responsible for producing, checking and reviewing technical deliverables such as design reports, specifications, drawings, calculations etc
- Provide technical input into project design deliverables for external works aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Provide mentorship and help to develop the capabilities and skills of other less experienced colleagues.
- Work independently with minimal technical guidance whilst drawing on the technical network within Atkins Réalis for more challenging technical problems.
- Provide technical support for bid proposals.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Safety Legislation and Atkins Réalis Company Safety Procedures.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and other teams based overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards and procedures for deliverables, including check and review of your own work as well as other's work.
About you
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer, or actively in the final stages of working towards chartered professional accreditation.
- Proven experience in coordinating or managing a civil engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy included within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
