Our Multi‑Skilled Drivers are flexible and adaptable, able to drive any Class 2 vehicle within our fleet to support the business where and when needed, while promoting Slicker’s workplace values. This role can be based at any of the following sites: Stourport, Hull, Newport or Ipswich.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Professional HGV Class 2 driving, predominantly tanker work, with occasional other duties or 18T box van work if required
  • Collecting waste oil and other liquid products
  • Working nationwide, Monday to Friday
  • Completing all relevant electronic information to generate consignment notes
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, including daily walk‑around checks and Working Time Directive requirements
  • Adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Representing the company in a professional manner and providing an excellent level of service when dealing with customers and members of the public

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working in a similar environment is essential.
  • Able to fulfil the demands of this physical role, which includes the handling of waste containers / hoses (training and lifting equipment provided)
  • Flexibility to work longer hours during busy periods, with the ability to stay out overnight Monday to Friday if required.
  • Logical thinking and problem‑solving abilities to deal with issues that may be encountered on site or while travelling between sites
  • Able to communicate and engage effectively with customers and colleagues, demonstrating a positive approach to customer service
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • A team player with a flexible and proactive approach

Licences / Qualifications

  • HGV Class C (Class 2) Licence
  • ADR Licence preferred

Hours and Pay

  • Standard hours: 48 hours, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available
  • Basic Salary: £38,078.33 pa
  • OTE £50,000 - £55,000 OTE (Basic + OT + bonus)
