At Slick, we’re transforming how salons and barbers run their businesses. Our smart booking platform and digital partner help industry professionals manage bookings, clients, and payments seamlessly. While 65% of salons still rely on pen and paper, we’re bringing the beauty industry online - the way taxis, hotels, and restaurants already are.

We’re looking for a hands-on QA Engineer to help us level up quality across our products. We’re a growing team of 9 engineers and 3 PMs. With strong backend coverage already in place, we’re looking for a QA expert to lead structure, ownership, and automation as we scale our web and upcoming mobile app. You’ll be the first dedicated QA on our growing team – shaping process, introducing automation, and keeping our releases rock solid.

What you’ll do:

  • Own regression and release testing for web + mobile
  • Build and maintain Playwright automation suites
  • Design and run manual tests for new features
  • Work with PMs and developers to make sure everything is testable and stable
  • Collaborate with PMs to understand the user and product objectives
  • Investigate escalated bugs, using tools like Sentry to identify root causes and support production debugging
  • Advocate for best practices and improve our overall QA discipline
  • Track and communicate test coverage, risks, and defects clearly across the team

What we're looking for:

  • 4+ years in QA or software testing
  • Familiar with API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools
  • Comfortable testing integrations with third-party APIs (Stripe, Intercom, Twilio, etc)
  • Collaborative mindset – comfortable working with PMs, developers, and designers
  • Willing to do manual testing as well (roughly 60% automation, 40% manual)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with performance/load testing, Datadog, Sentry
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools
  • Exposure to mobile app testing and frameworks

You’ll define how we do QA, own automation from day one, and work with a collaborative team that values quality and transparency – with the opportunity to shape and scale the QA function as we grow.

Competitive salary package of £50,000 – £65,000. 10 Work From abroad days. Terms apply. 25 days annual leave plus all Bank Holidays. Additional birthday day off. This is a remote/hybrid role. Office days are Wednesday-Thursday in our Fitzrovia office with all amenities and company social budget for lunches, nights out and the odd treat in the office. Role can be remote if required. Company pension. Fast-learning environment, entrepreneurial and strong team spirit encouraged by company socials and opportunities to get experience in different departments.
