SLH Consult are partnering our client, a national Fire Detection & Suppression organisation, who are looking to appoint a Project Manager due to continued growth throughout the region.
The Opportunity
Are you a proven Project Manager with deep expertise in fire safety systems? Do you want to work on some of the largest data centre developments in the UK? SLH Consult is recruiting on behalf of a leading fire protection contractor. They are looking for a Project Manager to spearhead critical infrastructure projects across the South East. While a permanent hire is preferred, our client is highly adaptable and will fast-track excellent candidates on a temp-to-perm basis.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery: Oversee fire life safety projects from initial design phases through to final client handover.
- Critical Sites: Direct operations specifically within data centre environments, managing hyper-scale and co-location site challenges.
- Commercial Management: Take full ownership of project budgets, commercial forecasting, variations, and cash flow.
- Client Relations: Main point of contact for main contractors, end-users, and data centre stakeholders.
- H&S and Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety standards on site, ensuring all installations strictly adhere to UK fire regulations.
Required Experience
- Fire Industry Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of fire suppression (gas/water mist) and active detection systems, or similar transferable skills/industry.
- Critical Infrastructure: Proven experience working inside operational or live data centre environments advantageous.
- Regional Mobility: Full UK driving licence, with the ability to travel regularly between sites in Slough, Watford, and the surrounding South East.
- Project Tooling: Highly proficient in tracking milestones and logistics using MS Project or equivalent software.
- Certification: Industry-recognised qualifications (such as Prince2, PMP, SMSTS, or a relevant engineering degree) are highly advantageous.
