SLH Consult are partnering our client, a leading passive fire contractor, who are looking to appoint a passive fire surveyor for ongoing commercial projects within the West Midlands (Birmingham).
Duties will consist of the following:
- Conduct thorough on-site fire door surveys in line with industry standards and regulations
- Inspect doors, frames, hardware, seals, and associated components for compliance
- Accurately complete detailed, comprehensive reports using our specialist reporting software (training provided)
- Provide professional and clear communication with clients on-site
- Submit completed reports in a timely and organised manner
Required experience:
- Previous experience as a Fire Door Surveyor or relevant fire safety surveying role
- Strong understanding of current fire door regulations and standards (e.g. BS 8214, BS 476)
- Ability to write clear and accurate reports
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Fire safety certifications (FDIS, BRE, IFSM or similar)
- Experience with compartmentation or passive fire protection surveys
This will be an immediate start for the right candidate and will offer continuity and longevity of work.
