Location: Cheltenham

Key Objectives:

  • With support from the Packaging Manager, build knowledge of beauty packaging technology and apply these new skills in development projects.
  • Support the packaging part of projects through the design, development and implementation stages of new product development, achieving a balance of creative integrity, sustainability, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Work with third party suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the successful transition of NPD components and products into mass production.
  • Support the requirements for packaging data and technical documentation within the business and assist in laboratory testing requirements.
  • Support the business's Packaging Sustainability Goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the packaging representative on allocated development projects and manage associated packaging related tasks, focusing on profitability, sustainability and meeting brand objectives.
  • Assist in the development of packaging, using external suppliers to assure packaging delivers a high-quality product to customers and consumers.
  • Attend regular NPD project meetings for all-year-round & gifting ranges.
  • Work with the wider team to provide positive solutions to problems during new product development and during the lifecycle of the product, post launch.
  • Conduct packaging testing, following written procedures and producing and storing high quality technical reports.
  • Assist with packaging maintenance projects across the business, including cost savings to contribute to bottom line growth.
  • Support requests from the business for packaging data.
  • Provide support for the business’s Packaging Sustainability Policy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal colleagues and with existing & new suppliers including suppliers in the Far East.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering, scientific or technical design discipline.
  • Experience in a packaging development environment desirable.
  • A full driving license would be an advantage.
