Sleeper Media, the leading media brand in hospitality design, is seeking an Event Manager to help drive our next phase of growth for the AHEAD Awards – the leading awards programme for hospitality design – and Sleeper Sessions, our innovative meetings forum series of events. This role will suit someone looking to build on their current experience in event operations and management.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Highly Organised – comfortable handling everything from spreadsheets to speaker liaison, travel schedules to table plans
  • Commercially Astute – able to grasp the financial bigger picture, whilst keeping a keen eye on the costs/budget to deliver profitable events.
  • Self Motivated – equally capable of working independently, internally or with our many trusted partners around the world
  • Market Savvy – you will have an innate understanding of what makes our industry tick, what buttons to press to engage and enthuse, and how to make our audience act on a call to action

Reporting to the Commercial Lead on the AHEAD Awards, and the Editor-in-Chief on Sleeper Sessions events, the Event Manager will carry out a variety of tasks to ensure our reputation for delivering best-in-class industry leading events across the globe is maintained.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic media company, catering for an exciting, vibrant industry.

Extensive overseas travel is a non-negotiable element of the role (approx. 35+ days per year) including long haul travel to Asia, the Middle East and the US several times each year.

It will suit someone with a minimum of 3 years in a senior event management role, looking to build on their current experience in event management, and requires a positive ‘can-do’ attitude in its day-to-day execution.

The position offers hybrid working between home and a minimum of three days per week (Tues – Thurs) at our offices at Strawberry Studios, designed by award-winning design agency NoChintz and the place where bands including The Smiths, The Stone Roses and Joy Division started their careers.
