We are now seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic, inspiring leaderwith high expectations and ambition for all children to rapidly drive qualityimprovement in all aspects of teaching and learning to ensure improved outcomesfor all.

The successful candidate will:

  • have previous experience ofleading quality improvement, including a proven track record of securingsustained improvements in teaching and learning, across a wide range of areas,
  • have the ability to gather,analyse and interpret information to help effect change and improvement,
  • be passionate about children’ssuccess and will be driven to make their experiences and outcomes the best theycan be,
  • have the ability to motivate andinspire staff, solve problems and effectively manage performance to create highperforming teams across the Trust,
  • have a thorough and up to dateknowledge of educational developments and best practice and be able todemonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • be an outstanding practitionerwho is able to support and improve quality of teaching and learning,
  • have experience of leading EYFSand KS1.
  • Have experience or be willing tolead on Early Reading

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION –Assistant Headteacher

A person appointed Assistant Head Teacher in aschool, in addition to carrying out the professional duties of a teacher otherthan a Headteacher (as described in Part XII) including those dutiesparticularly assigned to his/her by the Head or Executive Team, shall:

Play a major role under the overall directionof the Headteacher and/or Executive Team in:

  • (a)Formulating theaims and objectives of the school.
  • (b)Establishing thepolicies through which they shall be achieved.
  • (c)Managing staff andresources to that end.
  • (d)Monitoringprogress towards their achievement.

Undertake any professional duties of the Assistant Headteacher reasonably delegated to him/her by the Head and or Executive Team.

Undertake to the extent required by the Headand or Executive Team, PHMAT Trust Board, the professional duties of the Head in the event of his/her absence from the school.

Ensure that they uphold the vision, values andethos of the Trust at all times.

Be entitled to a break of reasonable length as near to the middle of each school day as is reasonably practicable.
