SCR is part of SLB\’s global network of research and engineering centres. SCR is a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research and computing facilities. We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the energy industry. We are seeking a creative self-motivated Research Scientist to develop mathematical models for mechanical systems dynamics. The job will require the ability to derive mathematical models of complex mechanical systems. Work in modelling complex mechanical systems dynamics. Work with experimentalists to validate models and concepts and match models to experimental or field data. Engage and collaborate with the SLB technical community. Ability to develop novel solutions to research and engineering problems and articulate them to the technology team and management. Publish scientific papers, write patent applications and attend conferences. PhD in Applied Mathematics or similar discipline preferably with knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and related fields. Applied Mathematics (Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Numerical Methods). Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, Simulink, ANSYS, SolidWorks, Abaqus, or ADAMS (optional). Programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB for custom simulations. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: ability to derive mathematical models of mechanical systems.
