Job Summary: The Product Analyst (Reservoir Engineering) is a key member of the digital product team and provides technical insight and solution design throughout the product lifecycle. The role translates product roadmap requirements into clear, actionable design specifications. The Reservoir Engineer Product Analyst evaluates and tests product prototypes to ensure they meet usability expectations, customer needs, and roadmap objectives.

Typical Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Product Design: Develop options that meet roadmap goals and customer requirements.
  • Enhance Usability: Work with user experience team to optimize product usability and automation for better development efficiency.
  • AI: Ensure products leverage the latest advances in AI technology.
  • Engineering Guidance: Provide daily guidance to engineering teams on product functionality development.
  • Work item definition: Offer detailed descriptions and acceptance criteria to engineering team for new functionalities.
  • Client Prioritization: Assist the product team in prioritizing client requirements during sprint planning.
  • Accuracy Validation: Validate the accuracy of the solutions developed.
  • Prototype Testing: Conduct testing for prototypes and commercial products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Customer Validation: Support the definition of the User-Experience and continually validate that through testing and use-data analysis.
  • Post-Development communication: Inform customers about the timelines for product enhancements.
  • Product Quality: Collaborate with engineering to maintain high standards of product quality.
  • Build Product Material: Produce product documentation, demo videos and written material for training and marketing purposes.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of product design and technical requirements to create viable solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate product functionalities and enhancements to both engineering teams and clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to optimize product development and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-oriented approach to understand and prioritize client needs and validate product solutions.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: The capacity to work closely with cross-functional teams and lead product quality initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience within Reservoir Engineering
  • Educated to Masters level in related discipline
  • Desired experience working with SLB product portfolio (Petrel, Intersect etc)
