Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to support our Legal team based in London. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, multinational environment, supporting legal operations across multiple jurisdictions within the Europe and Africa region. The Legal Intern will assist with legal research, data analysis, contract review, regulatory monitoring, and compliance-related activities, contributing to the effective management of legal risks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct legal research on applicable laws and regulations in regions of operations
- Support the team in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence
- Assist in maintaining and updating legal databases and legal trackers
- Monitor and summarize regulatory developments, including areas such as corporate law, employment law, digital/technology laws and compliance requirements
- Provide support on compliance and ethics initiatives, including internal trainings and documentation
- Help prepare legal memoranda, presentations, and reports
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including corporate record keeping
- Support legal projects and initiatives across the region
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counsel where required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of core legal principles (contract law, corporate law, compliance)
- Strong legal research and drafting skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn
- Interest in energy, infrastructure, or multinational corporate environments
- Digital and data analysis skills and ability to use basic digital tools e.g. MS Excel, PowerApps
- Previous internships or exposure to corporate, commercial, or regulatory law is an advantage
- Good understanding of regional regulatory environments is an advantage
