Location: Aberdeen, United Kingdom (office-based, 5 days per week)
Duration: 3 months (Summer Internship — starting June 2026)
Summary: The Data Specialist Summer Intern will support the Print Delivery Centre (PDC) team in preparing, managing, quality checking, and delivering RP/ WEC & DIGITAL subsurface data products related to petrophysical, geological, and borehole reservoir acquisition & analysis. This role offers hands-on experience with real operational workflows, data management practices, and client deliverables while working closely with experienced specialists. The intern will contribute to daily activities and learn how technical data is prepared, validated, and delivered to customers in a secure and accurate manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in loading digital data and performing initial quality checks to ensure data integrity
- Support data preparation activities such as depth matching, splicing, merging, and normalization
- Help with Customer Data Integrity workflows
- Assist in compiling final data composites from interpreted products as required
- Support packaging and delivery of data products via secure digital platforms or physical media
- Participate in daily PDC tasks including data handling, management, and documentation
- Assist with customer data requests and internal data workflows
- Support reservoir performance related projects through data preparation tasks
- Maintain organized records and ensure proper handling of sensitive technical data
Essential Requirements:
- Studying towards a Bachelors or Masters in Geoscience, Computer Science, Data science, Mathematics or related field. (3rd grade students)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to learn new software tools quickly
- Interest in data management, subsurface technologies, or energy industry operations
- Basic understanding of data quality control concepts is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Good communication skills in English (B2+)
- Able to work on-site full-time during the internship period
