Job Summary:

As a Specialist Trainee (MWD), you'll receive comprehensive training in drilling technology, downhole telemetry systems, data acquisition, troubleshooting, and customer service. Working alongside experienced Field Specialists, you'll gain hands-on experience operating and maintaining specialised MWD equipment while supporting drilling operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop technical expertise, solve complex operational challenges, and build a career as a trusted on-site technical specialist within the energy industry.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop the technical knowledge and operational skills required to support Measurement While Drilling (MWD) services.
  • Build expertise in MWD tools, downhole telemetry systems, data acquisition, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of drilling operations in line with programme objectives and client requirements.
  • Support the deployment, operation, maintenance, and testing of MWD equipment at the wellsite.
  • Monitor and deliver accurate real-time drilling and formation data to customers and the wider drilling team.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily drilling reports, operational updates, and post-job reviews.
  • A modern apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent qualification in a technical field
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think methodically
  • Ability to work well under pressure and without supervision
