SLB is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in keeping key surface equipment at SLB Reservoir Performance operating safely and efficiently. You will support in installing and maintaining a range of machinery including winches, diesel and electric power units, masts, and compressors by performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and repairing equipment to prevent operational disruptions. Responsibilities also include the commissioning and upkeep of electrical power and instrumentation systems, fault finding, and providing hands-on or remote operations support. While the position is primarily based at our Dyce facility in Aberdeen, it includes occasional travel within the region and infrequent offshore assignments to support operational needs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead by example, in all SLB safety processes, ensuring safe practices are utilized while performing work.
- Troubleshoot and repair, including preventative maintenance and component replacement.
- Implements continuous improvement of maintenance strategy that fully utilizes available workforce to achieve maximum equipment availability.
- Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals.
- Performs work area housekeeping duties.
- Troubleshoot equipment with voltages on 12 VDC, 110VAC, 240VAC, 480VAC, 690VAC.
- Inspect, test and maintain all electrical components and equipment on site.
- Use voltmeters, amp meters and related testing apparatus to test defective equipment.
- Determines if work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Determines severity of equipment down times and estimates time to make repairs.
- Install motors, VFDs, breakers and other related electrical equipment.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
- SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical maintenance
- COMPEX certification
- Experience in ATEX system maintenance and installation
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
- Strong communication and client‑facing skills, with the ability to represent SLB professionally at the wellsite.
- Ability to work autonomously
- Basic report writing skills are essential.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Basic computer skills to include general Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
- A valid right to work status in the UK is required.
