Location: Crawley, United Kingdom

Job Summary: Full-waveform inversion (FWI) is one of the most rapidly changing areas of technology in subsurface imaging and characterization today. We are looking for an experienced geophysicist with expertise in depth imaging and ideally FWI to join our headquarters geophysics team to ensure the rapid introduction of new techniques into our regional operations and support the development of innovative solutions to our customers’ challenges.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Early adoption and evaluation of new technology
  • Development of innovative depth imaging solutions, working closely with clients
  • Close liaison with both R&E and technical leaders in our operations teams
  • Internal and external publication and knowledge sharing

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience, expertise and a passion for earth model building and depth imaging
  • Relevant qualification to at least MSc level expected
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Experience programming using C++ in HPC environments desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of data science and machine learning to subsurface imaging challenges a bonus
