ROLE OVERVIEW //
We are looking for a Business Continuity and Operational Resilience Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support the Business Continuity and Security function in maintaining the firm’s business continuity and operational risk frameworks and ISO certifications.
This is a multifaceted role, requiring proven experience of multi-discipline risk management in a professional services environment. The role will primarily be responsible for developing, enhancing, and testing the firm’s business continuity arrangements, and maintaining the firm’s ISO 22301 certification.
The role sits in the Business Continuity team, reporting to the Head of Business Continuity and Security.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //
The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.
- In conjunction with the Head of Business Continuity and Security, lead on all aspects of business continuity planning and response arrangements at the firm.
- Conduct policy reviews and risk and business impact analyses to ensure the foundations of the framework are aligned to the firm’s strategic priorities and risk profile.
- Manage and report on incident management, business continuity, and technology recovery plan development and maintenance utilising specialist third-party software.
- Deliver the testing and exercising programme and track lessons learned and plan improvements.
- Coordinate annual internal and external audits to ensure the firm maintains ISO 22301 certification.
- Administer and maintain standard materials used for client information requests and audits.
- Assist in the production of management information and reports for senior management and committees.
- Monitor risks, industry news and trends to ensure the firm is well-placed to manage any emerging threats with the latest tools and knowledge.
- Coordinate the response to incidents with colleagues from across the firm.
- In some circumstances, such as during team absences, provide on-call cover out of hours.
- Support with the administration of the firm’s general insurances programme.
CANDIDATE PROFILE //
Candidates for this position must have:
- A proven track record of developing and embedding business continuity frameworks.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a similar role, having prior exposure to incident management and ISO 22301.
- Understands, and is able to explain, the threats faced by the firm and what practical mitigations are available.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at a senior level, able to persuade stakeholders of the need for good business continuity management and what is required to embed it successfully.
- Strong written communication skills, able to present information clearly to both technical and non- technical audiences.
- Able to deal with ambiguity and competing priorities, with a high degree of initiative and autonomy.
- The ability to identify creative solutions to overcome challenges.
