Slaters Electricals Ltd (Sheffield Branch) is a leading industrial electrical contractor, specialising in HV & LV power distribution for the industrial, renewables & infrastructure sectors. We offer an attractive mixture of local work through our relationships with major South Yorkshire industrial customers and national project work installing and maintaining power & distribution transformers and switchgear for our Newcastle HQ, who are a leading independent supplier of new and refurbished LV, MV & HV power distribution equipment established for over 100 years. Due to continued business growth, we are recruiting an Approved Industrial Electrician for our installation & contracting division in Sheffield.
Working on a variety of local and UK-wide projects, applicants should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Responsibilities
- Install HV and LV power distribution single & multi-core cable, cable tray, containment and test on completion
- Install electrical power distribution equipment (primarily HV & LV transformers and switchgear) and termination of LV and control cabling
- Maintain electrical power distribution equipment (primarily HV & LV transformers and switchgear) under the guidance of an AP/SAP or suitably qualified technician
- Accept and work under customer or Slaters Electricals Ltd issued electrical safety documentation
- Carry out general electrical duties concerned with off-loading and assembly of transformers & switchgear
- Maintenance of transformers & switchgear and production of maintenance reports
- Systems testing and fault diagnosis
- Perform site risk assessments and assist in producing method statements
- Document test results and produce site work reports
- Participate in necessary schemes to provide cover outside of normal working hours
- Assist with works tests when necessary
- Qualifications
- Time served apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
