We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team in Manchester.

The Management Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate and timely monthly management accounts, maintaining robust financial controls, and providing insightful analysis to support decision‑making across the business. The role also contributes to continuous improvement within the finance function, helping to drive efficiency, accuracy, and commercial insight.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for assigned entities, including clear variance analysis and commentary.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated monthly accounts, ensuring accurate cost and revenue allocation.
  • Ensure all month‑end journals are accurate, fully supported and appropriately authorised.
  • Deliver high‑quality balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Provide insight and analysis to support business decision‑making and performance tracking.
  • Work closely with FP&A, transactional finance and payroll teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting outputs.
  • Assist with audit requirements, including preparation of supporting documentation and responding to queries.
About You
  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant.
  • Experience in a management accounting or similar finance role.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and improving reporting processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to influence, challenge constructively, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience within a professional services or legal environment is desirable.
