Overview

Paralegal - Abuse & Public Inquiries at Slater and Gordon Lawyers (UK) in Manchester. The role provides support to fee earners on a varied caseload, including civil abuse claims against organisations and institutions, and public inquiry work such as the Covid-19 Public Inquiry. The role also involves handling new enquiry calls from potential clients and assisting with onboarding.

As part of the team, you’ll assist busy fee earners with legal research, gathering and reviewing records, and producing chronologies of lengthy and complex material, requiring high attention to detail. You’ll attend conferences and client meetings to take notes and prepare bundles for court, experts, counsel, and defendants, as well as opening new files, drafting documents, and managing a large volume of new enquiries with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Support fee earners on a varied caseload, including civil abuse claims and public inquiry work.
  • Take new enquiry calls from potential clients and assist with onboarding.
  • Conduct legal research and review records; produce chronologies of complex material.
  • Attend conferences and client meetings to take notes and prepare bundles for court, experts, counsel, and defendants.
  • Open new files, draft documents, and manage a high volume of enquiries.
