We are looking for an experienced and proactive Data Protection Manager to join our Manchester office. This is a key role responsible for overseeing and enhancing our data protection framework, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and wider regulatory requirements, and promoting a strong culture of data privacy across the firm.

You will act as a subject matter expert, working closely with senior stakeholders, legal teams, IT, and risk functions to manage data protection risks and support business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on data protection compliance across the firm, ensuring adherence to UK GDPR and related legislation
  • Act as the main point of contact for data protection queries and incidents
  • Oversee and manage data breaches, including investigation, reporting, and mitigation
  • Maintain and develop policies, procedures, and data protection frameworks
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff to improve awareness and compliance
  • Liaise with regulators where required, including the ICO
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on changes
About You
  • Proven experience in a data protection or privacy-focused role
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection laws
  • Experience managing data breaches and regulatory reporting
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
