We are actively recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join our Family team in Manchester. The role involves providing administrative support for our fee earners, managing files from opening to archiving, handling post, responding to enquiries from clients, executive and external parties, lodging documents with courts, completing court forms, and creating new client enquiries through our Practice Management System.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing precedent and non‑precedent letters, simple and complex letters, attendances, and internal memoranda.
- Conducting legal research and providing effective support, guidance and delegation to colleagues.
- Assisting with billing requirements, maintaining financial records, preparing bills, chasing outstanding costs and disbursements, and managing fee earners’ time recording, billing and debtor management.
- Managing multiple diaries, type through speech recognition, and demonstrating strong typing skills.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary.
- Strong typing skills and ability to follow instructions using speech recognition.
