We’re excited to share that we’re hiring a Founding Designer for Slashwork which has officially come out of stealth! Slashwork has raised $3.5m, led by 20VC, after being incubated by them, and this is a genuinely interesting story in the future of work space. The founding team are ex-Facebook engineers who helped ship some of the platform’s most foundational products, including News Feed, Groups, Timeline, developer APIs, and Workplace itself. Slashwork is building a new asynchronous communication platform designed to enable work rather than overwhelm teams. They’re currently working with a small number of companies ahead of a broader rollout later this year.
The Role
Looking for a Founding Product Designer who can move fast, design with clarity, and bring ideas to life on screen. This role is hands-on: prototyping, iterating, and shipping product with speed and precision. You’ll design for web and mobile (iOS/Android), helping to solve complex product challenges like how AI fits into human workflows, whilst ensuring the product feels personal, intuitive, and connected.
What You’ll Do
- Design intuitive, aesthetically sharp experiences across web and mobile.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate in Figma (or your preferred tools).
- Collaborate daily with founders to turn product ideas into polished UI.
- Balance speed with user insight, always considering real-world use cases.
- Explore new ways to integrate AI while keeping human connection at the center.
- Bring fresh ideas, challenge assumptions, and push the team to think differently.
About You
- Strong track record designing consumer-grade products with high aesthetic quality.
- Skilled at simplifying complex problems into elegant user experiences.
- Scrappy and execution-focused—you get pixels on screen fast.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to shape a product from zero to one.
- Open, collaborative, and able to give and receive feedback well.
- Bonus: technical fluency or ability to tweak code (e.g. CSS, HTML, React, React Native) (not required).
Why Join Slashwork
- Impact from day one: Shape the product and company from the ground up.
- Design led culture: Work with founders who deeply value design.
- Strong backing: Supported by leading VCs and respected angel investors.
