About Pact Coffee

At Pact, we\'re obsessed with incredible coffee.

We seek out the world\'s best coffee growers - farmers whose skill and dedication produce coffees of rare quality.

Our role is to honour that work - by roasting with precision, making every step effortless for our customers, and holding ourselves to the same uncompromising standards.

We want every cup to reflect the care of the grower, the rigour of our team, and the unmistakable pleasure of coffee at its best.

As a proud B Corp, we\'re committed to doing business the right way. That means we\'re held to account - for how we trade, how we treat people, and how we treat the land we use.

The role

We\'re looking for an Operational Excellence Manager to play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing the standards, systems and processes across our Roastery.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you\'ll work across Coffee Roasting, Procurement & Inventory, and Production, to ensure our operations run safely, efficiently, and to the highest possible standards.

You\'ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, leading compliance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across our Roastery.

The role has a strong focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, BRCGS, and operational resilience.

You\'ll also champion improvements to reliability, efficiency, and quality, helping us deliver an exceptional experience from the moment we roast the coffee to the moment it lands on a customer\'s doorstep.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working across teams, ensuring compliance, raising standards, and identifying opportunities to deliver practical and lasting improvements.

What you\'ll be doing

Strengthen compliance: lead the continued development of our Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and BRCGS systems and maintain audit readiness.

Build on our H&S culture: develop our existing Health & Safety systems, ensuring risks are well managed and standards continue to improve.

Embed great standards: develop SOPs, training, audits and operational controls that make excellence part of everyday working.

Protect customer delivery: work across Production, Coffee Operations, Procurement, Brand, and Customer Experience to ensure every order is manufactured, packed and dispatched for an exceptional unboxing experience with every order.

Drive operational excellence: identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, reliability and performance across the Roastery.

Improve reliability: lead Planned Preventative Maintenance and work with teams and contractors to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Lead continuous improvement: identify root causes, challenge existing ways of working and turn ideas into practical, lasting improvements.

Equality Statement

At Pact Coffee, we are committed to creating a working environment which is safe, based on mutual respect and enabling people to be themselves.

We acknowledge that the diversity of our workforce should be reflective of the society in which we live.

Be that age, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, ethnicity, religion or belief and marital status, education or socio-economic background.

Finally, we believe that championing diversity and inclusion among not only our employees, but also the farmers we work with, is critical to our success.

What we\'re looking for

We're looking for someone who combines strong operational leadership with a genuine passion for excellence and continuous improvement.

You\'ll ideally have

  • Experience in Operations, Compliance or Health & Safety within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH.
  • Working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, Food Safety and GMP.
  • Experience with SOPs / Risk Assessments, audits, operational controls and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and improve how things are done.
  • A practical, hands on approach and a genuine desire to make things better.

Benefits

  • Monthly at-home coffee allowance
  • Income Protection
  • Group Life Assurance
  • Enhanced Workplace Pension
