About wawa fertility
17% of adults worldwide need help to have a baby and by 2050, that number will reach nearly 50%. Yet only 2% can access fertility treatment today. That’s not a gap; it’s a canyon. And we’re building the bridge. At wawa fertility, we’re on a mission to make fertility care accessible to 100% of those who need it, transforming success rates and accessibility worldwide. Our end-to-end platform digitises the entire fertility journey, enabling clinics to swap spreadsheets for seamless workflows and spend less time on admin, more time on life-changing care.
The Mission
To make fertility care accessible to everyone who needs it because the right to start a family shouldn’t depend on where you live or what you earn.
Who You Are
You’re a builder who takes ownership. We’re collaborative without the bureaucracy. There’s no long permission queue, just a mission-driven team working together to get meaningful things shipped. You craft trustworthy systems. You care about the humans at the end of every pipeline: the nurse checking scan results at 7am, the clinic lead staring at a dashboard, the patient whose record has to be exactly right. Clean, reliable, well-modelled data is non-negotiable for you. You’ll be working inside a small team of data folks. Autonomy is important, but collaboration is a priority.
What You’ll Do
- This is a role for builders who want to make a direct impact. We’re creating a complete operating system for fertility clinics, and the data layer underneath it is the nervous system. From embryology records and follicle scans to payments and outcomes, you’ll turn messy, high-stakes clinical data into a clean, trusted foundation the whole product runs on.
- Design and ship data pipelines end-to-end: ingesting from EMR and clinic source systems, modelling into a canonical data layer, and serving analytics-ready datasets and insights.
- Work closely with customers to migrate and validate data from their old EMR to wawa. Managing customers through complex data migrations step-by-step to ensure they have the best start with Wawa.
- Solve genuinely complex problems daily: heterogeneous healthcare data, schema mapping across clinics, data quality and validation, and multi-country compliance.
- Collaborate with application engineers and clinicians to deliver datasets and metrics that are accurate, well-documented, and genuinely useful.
- Shape the data architecture and engineering culture of a platform used by clinics across 14+ countries and scaling fast.
What You Bring
- A deep appreciation of well-modelled data, with the chops to build elegant, scalable pipelines and a sensible warehouse.
- Experience working with clinical healthcare datasets and standards (OMOP is a plus).
- Experience building production data pipelines with strong SQL and Python (bonus points for AWS and Ruby).
- Comfortable working directly with clinics and external stakeholders.
- Transparent and honest communication.
- A collaborative, respectful, and positive presence on the team.
- An eye for data quality and a drive to build pipelines that are reliable and observable.
What We Offer
- Mission-Driven Work: Help solve the global fertility crisis. Every feature you ship helps make care more accessible for families worldwide.
- Generous Rewards: Share in the company’s success. Your contributions are reflected in meaningful equity and real upside.
- Ownership & Impact: No red tape and no waiting for permission. You’ll define, build, and ship — with direct impact on the product and the mission.
- Growth & Learning: Develop professionally while shaping the future of healthcare technology. Wear many hats and level up fast.
- Early Team Magic: Join the founding crew. Help set the standards, culture, and direction of the company for years to come.
- Hybrid & Flexible: 3 days a week at our Paddington office, with flexibility built in. We trust you to do great work wherever you are.
Why wawa?
