About our role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Principal to join our Salesforce practice in the UK.

This is a senior role for an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud professional who can combine deep platform expertise with consulting leadership, client delivery and commercial growth.

You’ll play a key role in helping our clients transform their marketing, customer engagement and personalisation capabilities using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and the wider Salesforce Customer 360 platform.

You’ll work closely with client stakeholders, Salesforce and our Slalom teams to shape strategies, design solutions and lead complex programmes from concept through to delivery.

Alongside delivery, you’ll help us grow our Salesforce Marketing Cloud capability and market presence.

You’ll contribute to our go‑to‑market (GTM) strategy, identify and shape new opportunities, support sales pursuits and build compelling propositions that demonstrate the value Slalom can bring to clients.

Life as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Principal

As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Principal, you’ll operate at the intersection of technology, customer experience and business transformation.

You’ll provide strategic and technical leadership across complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud engagements, while helping to develop our proposition and identify new opportunities in the market.

You’ll work with senior client stakeholders to understand their business challenges and translate them into practical, scalable Marketing Cloud solutions.

You’ll also act as a trusted advisor, bringing together Salesforce technology, data, marketing strategy and customer experience to deliver measurable outcomes.

Specifically, you will

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud programmes and solutions across the customer lifecycle.
  • Provide senior-level technical and functional leadership across Marketing Cloud engagements, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned to business outcomes.
  • Define Marketing Cloud strategies, architectures and roadmaps aligned to clients’ broader Salesforce and Customer 360 strategies.
  • Work closely with marketing, digital, data, technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, design activities and executive‑level discussions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, challenging thinking and identifying opportunities to improve customer engagement and business performance.
  • Provide oversight and guidance across solution design, configuration, integrations, data, automation and deployment activities.
  • Identify delivery risks and dependencies and work collaboratively with teams to resolve them.
  • Ensure delivery teams maintain high standards of quality, governance and Salesforce best practice.
  • Support and mentor Salesforce Marketing Cloud consultants, architects and other team members, helping to build capability across the practice.
  • Growth, GTM & Market Development
  • Help define and execute Slalom’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud go‑to‑market strategy in the UK.
  • Identify new client opportunities and help build a strong pipeline of Marketing Cloud‑led engagements.
  • Partner with account teams and Salesforce to identify client needs and shape propositions that address them.
  • Lead or support sales pursuits, proposals, RFPs and client presentations, bringing strong Marketing Cloud expertise and commercial insight.
  • Develop compelling propositions, offerings and points of view that differentiate Slalom in the Marketing Cloud market.
  • Build strong relationships with Salesforce stakeholders and contribute to joint go‑to‑market activity.
  • Engage with existing and prospective clients to understand their marketing, customer experience and technology priorities.
  • Represent Slalom externally through industry events, client roundtables, thought leadership, content and other market‑facing activities.
  • Stay close to developments across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, Customer 360 and the wider Salesforce ecosystem and identify opportunities to bring these capabilities to our clients.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and maturity of Slalom’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud capability.
  • Act as a senior leader and role model within the Salesforce practice.
  • Help attract, develop and retain high‑calibre Salesforce Marketing Cloud talent.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues, supporting their technical, consulting and career development.
  • Share knowledge, reusable assets, approaches and best practices across the Salesforce practice.
  • Contribute to capability development, including methodologies, accelerators, propositions and delivery frameworks.

  • What You’ll Bring
  • Significant experience delivering Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions within a consulting, systems integration or complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with experience across relevant capabilities such as Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder and Personalisation.
  • Strong understanding of customer data, segmentation, personalisation, customer journeys and marketing automation.
  • Experience working with the wider Salesforce ecosystem and understanding how Marketing Cloud integrates with platforms such as Salesforce Data Cloud, Sales Cloud and Service Cloud
  • Experience leading complex Salesforce programmes and working with senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong consulting skills, with the ability to translate business and marketing challenges into practical technology solutions
  • Experience contributing to or leading sales pursuits, proposals, account growth or go‑to‑market activity.
  • A track record of building trusted relationships with clients and technology partners.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at C‑suite and senior leadership level.
  • Experience mentoring and developing consultants and contributing to the growth of a Salesforce capability.
  • A passion for customer experience, digital transformation and the role technology can play in creating better outcomes for organisations and their customers.
  • Salesforce certifications relevant to Marketing Cloud would be highly desirable.
