We have an exciting opportunity for a Salesforce Data Migration Architect to join either our London or Manchester offices.
Responsibilities
- Salesforce Data Architecture Design: Lead the design and optimization of Salesforce data models, including custom objects, relationships and fields to align with business needs. Ensure best practices in data modelling to support scalable, robust and reliable data storage and retrieval.
- Data Migration Strategy & Development: Develop and manage data migration processes for Salesforce instances using tools including staging databases (SQL Server, Postgres or MySQL) scripting and automation languages such as Shell Scripts, Typescript, Python (Simple Salesforce, Pandas, SQL Alchemy), and other Enterprise ETL tools. Oversee bulk data transfers, ensuring they adhere to Salesforce governor limits and data load best practices.
- Data Quality & Validation: Perform in-depth data analysis of migration candidate data to ensure that the data transformed and loaded into the target system is of high quality and meets the needs of the client. Provide reports to the client on the quality of the source data and work with them to improve or fix data quality issues at source.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams such as Salesforce architects, developers, admins, and business analysts to define and understand migration requirements, deliver accurate reporting, and mitigate data risks.
- Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data migration issues, optimizing data load performance and queries by considering Salesforce governor limits, appropriate API selection, and indexed fields.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience with Salesforce data migration projects and using tools such as SQL, Shell Scripts, Python, Talend, Pentaho, SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory and the Salesforce CLI.
- Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture and the data models of the different Salesforce Clouds, including objects, relationships, schema design, data management, large data volume considerations.
- Expertise in SQL for querying, manipulating, and analyzing data from various sources and translating it into the Salesforce environment.
- Solid knowledge of Salesforce’s governor limits, data load processes, and the use of Salesforce APIs for data migration.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure smooth migrations.
